Sunlight

Rays shine,
heat flows,
energy radiates,
a new light each
dawning day.

Each day
rising into the sky,
only to set again
by the night.

Summers heat
unbearably hot.
Strokes and burns,
exhaustion and fainting,
all caused by the same source.

Sun burns
Sun poisoning
Sun stroke
Sun tanning
All caused by the sun,
yes out glorious sun.

Kids are out and about.
Playing in the parks,
going on picnics,
swimming and playing games.

But not you,
no your coped up
hiding away from the sun.
You might burn or get ill.
You might faint or become tanned.

You’re hiding from the wonderful world
just outside your bedroom door.
That you so freely could obtain.
Yet you disdain our sun
and instead hide away.
